Imagine leaving Cape Town for your destination somewhere along the West Coast and only 80 kilometers down the R27 you discover that proverbial Oasis in the dessert or Shang-ri-la. Weskus Padstal or the West Coast Farm Stall is situated at the Darling and Yzerforntein(R315) crossing and the perfect place to make that long awaited stop.

The children will be eternally thankful to be able to get out of the vehicle and expend a little energy by running around in the indigenous gardens. You will be saved from hearing, "are we there yet?" for the hundredth time while you place your order for that cappuccino that you have been hallucinating about since you passed the Melkbosstrand turn off.
West Coast Farm Stall is also the perfect place to stop for a quick snack or a real home cooked meal depending on how hungry you are. The menu includes dishes such as toasted sandwiches, fish & chips, schnitzels, calamari, ox-tail, tripe & trotters etc and on Sundays, a real Boere Buffet consisting of rice and vegetables, roast beef, roast lamb, chicken and a baked pudding. Sunday lunch just like mom used to make. You may even want to take a freshly baked farm bread or pie with to eat once you reach your destination.
When the tummies are full, you can walk it off by having a look through the indigenous nursery or the many bird cages and the massive parrot aviary. This is one of the few places where you will be able to see some of the bigger parrot species such as the Macaws in free flight..
Once done, it will become extremely difficult to leave this place and the children will probably forgo their holiday given the opportunity, to stay and play.
West Coast Farm Stall has been in existence for approximately 10 years. It all started as a humble nursery, supplying the locals with indigenous plants and shrubs and moved on to become a fledgling farm stall. It was purchased by the Joubert Family in 2009 and has grown quite substantially in the past 5 years to include an amazing aviary filled with parrots and other species of birds, a restaurant and tea garden as well as an incredible collection of wood and marble carvings. This is a family run concern and you can always find one or more of us around should you need help or information concerning the parrots or nursery. Service and quality is important to us but affordability is our major concern. We know that it is not easy treating an entire family to an outing but we try our utmost to make this possible.
